Thank you. But Indabawa, I am not plotting anything, I am just speaking the truth.. that the figure is false.. I am in the USA.. And I have data and information.. the reseach centre allows me to use the satellite  Imagine .. So I can see every villages and town from my computer at work... It is a USA govt agency.. It is just too expensive.. I would have back up this information with satellite imagine.. If I can get fund to do that.. Please if you can help.. it  would cost $5000.. But I would provide all nigeria.. with the picture before the census is done.. if I can raise the money....


Do you know that Kano city , not the state... Is less than 209 sq km in land area... company to Ibadan with 715 sq km.. this is see from satellite....   abuja is less than 200 sq km in area coverage...

Agreed mrguest,but do you know that census in Nigeria has never been uncontentious?The census figures since colonial times, has always been contested by the South.This is because as we all know,population figures largely determines the distribution of resourses and the political power.

It is on this premise,that population of a particular group can to a large extent perpetuate a strong hold on power, galvanised the South in to hammering in to the ears of all those who care to listen, that all the past census exercises were deliberately skewed to favour the North.

Now my friend mrguest,this is where the conspiracy theory comes to fore.If the rooftop images are going to be the determining factors in ascertaining the population density of a settlement,as asserted by president Obasanjo recently,and vociferously expounded by your self,then there is indeed a PLAN to rig the forthcoming census exercise.

The president had made an impression that it would be impossible for any one(from the north?) to ascribe a population of 10,000 people to a village shown on the satellite monitor to posses not more than 30 roofs!

There is no gainsaying the fact that North,with overwhelming Muslim population, is also a polygamous society.There is hardly any family in the Muslim North that you cannot find two or more wives.Likewise,the traditional family set-up of the Muslim North allows for extended family structure.Thus,a compound may contain 20-30 households,with each unit having at least 2 house wives,and each wife bearing a possible number of 8 or more childrens.

Then by simple arithmetic,each compound may contain 60 house wives with their 480 childrens and 30 fathers.This putative illustration, excludes Grand pas & mas,aunts,nieces and other close relatives!

In short,a compound in a typical Northern community may have a 570 residents.Therefore,Obasanjo's paradigm that a settlement with 30 roofs may find it impossible to ascribe 10,000 population,is according to our simple but practical analysis a mere presupposition.Our simple arithmetic based on the above, may give us 17,100 people in a typical Northern settlement.As can be seen therefore,OBJ's paradigm of 'rooftop images',is simply a belated miscalculation.

Now can't you see why the North should naturally suspect the motive of discrediting the past exercise, for no other reason than  paving the way for laying the foundation of rigging the 2005 census exercise,in which the South is poised to tilt the balance to it's favour?

There is no way a town or villages can have 30 roof and have 10,000 people.. No where in the world.... Because if you divide each roof would  333.33 people per roof., there is no way a one floor house have 333.33 .. If us assume 20 room in the house... You would have 16.667 per room... How possible is that 16 people would live in one room...

Take for instead with the area cover kano city have and the said 1991 census figure , Kano city would have high density of people in an area in the world, even tokyo japan which hold the record , did not have the figure IBB gave kano city.. even  local govt in lagos never  had sure figure... all      ibb said was  Kano is the most dense place in the world..
according to IBB , kanocity was the most dense area in nigeria.... with an average house have 261 person per house.. this can not be.... The maximum room in  most one floor house in Nigeria is 20.. and at an average of 10 person per each room in the house... that is if we assume all houses have 20 room .. Kano would have 200. I do not think.. more than 7 person live in a room in any pert of nigeria.... And multiple by 20.. it is 140... I wonder where IBB came up with 261 ..

Where muslim are only allow to marry 4.. but Yorubas are allow to have more than 7 wife.. Yoruba culture encourage many wife... many yoruba people have more than 6 wife.. at average of 10 children per woman.. it   add up to 60 children per man compare to your  32 childred per man in the north.

 if we assume state have the same average villages population .... which is equal to the average villages population of Nigeria by 1988 census figure , which is 1882 person per villages...

How do I arrive at the average nation villages population ... the maths equation is below

Jigawa state would have a population of about 1,552,650 .



 Looking at the number of villages and town... I do not doubt all the state figure in the north...but some...

I believe that state like Sokoto , kebbi, jigawa, and katsina, zamfara were false figure... they are less populated than what is claim.. I believe from my math calculation using various factors to determine....

I believe that Katsina population(899 villages and town) by 1988 was around 1,691,918 million, instead of the 3,878,344 IBB govt gave us.....

I believe that kebbi( 625 villages and town ) was about 1,176,250 million by 1988.. And I believe the sokoto ( former sokoto include zamfara) was about 2,875,696 million.. but IBB claim it was 4.3million,... I believe that jigawa population(825 villages and town) was about 1,552,650 million. i believe kano ( 1134 villages and town) was about 4.0 million in 1988.. (assume that the 546 street in kano have 40 person per house and 50 houses per street...... ) if I use the same number of person per house of 20 person use in ibadan, kano would have about 3 million.

kano calculation is 1133 villages without kano city..2,147,362. while kano city would be 1,092,000... if you add that up, kano would be 3.239,362 people... and I know that most houses in kano has less than 40 person per house.... instead of 20.


I also would say that my calculation that a state like adamawa, kogi, kwara, bauchi and benue were short change in the 1988 census figure...

from my calculation I believe Adamawa(1588 villages an town ) was about 2.9 million 1988... And Kogi state with 1947 villages was about 3.66 million.., my calculation also point to the fact that in 1988 the population of kwara over 3000 villages was about 4.7 million. and bauchi state(gombe include) would be 3.9 , benue state was about 3.55 million too...




 one of the was to remove fraud from the census figure is to have a electronic feedback card, where each citizen is given a feedback card, and the feedback card is collected back by each  state govt. and they would do the calculation of their state by the number of card return in each state......

I have been living a part of my life shuttling between Kaduna, Abuja, Kano, Katsina, Bauchi, Plateau, and Adamawa. So my judgement will be based on these states I know..thou I have been to many states in Nigeria if not all! Forget, Lagos aside,  I may agree with your assumption on Oyo state and may be Ogun too..but to be honest I am sure.

I refuse to change the figure of Adamwa.. With the number of villages and town in adamawa town like Jada, ganye, Numan, mubi, hong , song,demsa and yola I believe that Adamawa is more populated than Katsina..... I have been to yola and katsina town.. and Yola ttown is at least 2 times the size of Katsina.... Yola town inlcude Jimeta sub, Yola is a metro now... I was in Yola some two years ago, when I came to Nigeria. My friend Mohammed had a wedding... I met him while I was living in Yola.... I also live in Katsina town for 6 month , and Duara for 3 month, and I was posted to Malumfashi for the rest of my 3 month..

Let compare Katsina to Adamawa....
1 Yola  (245,785)  is more populated than Katsina (223644) town and bigger in Land size..

2 . Mubi is more populated than Malumfashi.. even in the 1991 census figure Mubi was put at 161077, while Malumfashi 158338

3 numan in 1991 was put at 87568 while daura was put at 80510

4 While Ganye had 160,638 , compare to fuatua 162,888



 so if you look at the states you would see that all the big towns are match in population and adawama having the edge... but adamwa with  1588 villages by the end of the day was give 2.1 m., while katsina was given 3.8 m..  with only 899 villages..  Before 1991 census figure, all other census proof that thier are more people in the present adamawa state than the present Katsina state including the 1963 figure...  In 1991 Katsina state  population  was said to have triple in size from the 1963 figure while adamawa figure was said to have gown less than 1.5%





Kano state and Kaduna , let us compare the two....



1.. If you look at the Nipost website... who would see that Kano state had 1133 villages  and town but kaduna have 2175 villages and town..

If you look at the website you would see that the number of street in kaduna is about 500 , compare to 500 plus in kano... so both city are about the same in poulation with kano just have may a little edge.. I think very like edge... While Kaduna have big town like Zaria, Kafancha, kachia, Lere, makarfi. Kano state can not boost of such town... the 1991 figure put about halk the population of kano state into kano town.. and if kano and kaduna are about the same size... than Kaduna with more bigger city like zaria , Kafancha, Kachia should be more populated.... zaria is more populted than any other town in kano state apart from kano town.
